My first was in the Fifth Grade, I walked down the hill to Church from the street next to the mountain, ate a sandwich between meetings and took a nap on the couch; a blizzard had called off Sacrament Meeting one Sunday while I slept, I woke up to a dark Church and quickly left to go back up the hill to home, I slid past the Grade School to the end of this fence; covered in ice, one eye already shut, I closed the other and prayed, put my Bible in my coat and reached out from here – to me a sacred spot:
