Objective Truth compared to Personal Truth
I have said since a teen that the Book of Mormon raises my testimony of Christ from personal truth to objective. Another testimony of Christ, yes, but also everyone I asked duplicated its science experiment – when conducted Moroni 10 starting at verse 3 pausing to execute it before proceeding to strictly include all the elementary parts of verse 4 before gaining the experimental results in verse 5; analysing if everything was included and starting back at verse 3 as needed – verified the results. Unexpected but common was the feedback that all the phrases were requirements; like leaving out part of a chemistry experiment and process. Also, I was surprised that those who went in to prove me wrong often asked the same question, how many people have to duplicate the experience/experiment for it to become accepted as Truth.
John Taylor, Eternal Truth
I too have not doubted any truth of the Restoration. I have a couple of times prayed for a Devine understand, of late I have reserved s few which I will never speak more component of those truths. Words in inadequate to express the knowledge and power contained in those Eternal Truths.
Also, many explained to me that they were surprised that the testimony of Christ was most prominent with the verification of the Book of Mormon was secondary and came with a verification of the Bible, both being confirmation of Christ’s actions. I found this to be the key to know they were done with the process, like other science experiments it could be repeated.
My BYU Transcript shows that as a first semester Freshman, I took 301 Logic and Language (got an A brag brag with the help of the Holy Ghost) and the second semester The Philosophy of Science (A…), they both added depth to my Religious studies/classes and other studies/classes; I continue to believe they should be required at the beginning of all college programs, to the A level (I required them of myself).
