SACRAMENT PRAYERS

12. Elder Dallin H. Oaks, “Taking Upon Us the Name of Jesus Christ,” April 1985 General Conference (reference)

Not a scripture: This is what I tried to remember to do while in the hospital or working through Sunday, and need to remember to do while in this period described by Sister Burton as: “The ability to work on changing things we are able to control while having the ability to let go of things we cannot control.”

O God, my Eternal Father, I ask Thee in the name of Thy Son, Jesus Christ,

to include me in the blessing and sanctifying of the sacramental bread and water to my soul in remembrance of when I have partaken personally, that as I remember eating and drinking,

In remembrance of the body and blood of Thy Son,

I witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that I am willing to take upon me the name of Thy Son, and always remember Him and keep His commandments which He has given me; that I may always have His Spirit to be with me. Amen.
